LYONS SEAFOODS NEW ADDED VALUE RANGE TARGETS SIXTH PRIX
D’ELITE SUCCESS
Lyons Seafoods is aiming for its sixth Prix D’Elite
win in six years at the European Seafood Exposition
in Brussels, 22-24 April, 2008.
After scooping awards in 2002, 2004 and 2007, Lyons Seafoods
will be entering two new added-value lines aimed at restaurant
and pub chain end users.
The range will initially feature two delicious menu options;
Salmon and Prawn Florentine and King Prawn & Mussel Marinière
a la Crème.
The King Prawn & Mussel Marinière features a
combination of large, succulent, peeled farmed warm water
king prawns and Irish rope-grown mussels from Bantry Bay
in a classic creamy marinière sauce. The product comes
in an individually vacuum packed pouch ensuring excellent
portion control and minimal preparation, and is microwaveable
from frozen in minutes providing great speed of service.
The Salmon and King Prawn Florentine combines two customer
favourites in a healthy meal option that allows menu developers
to add their own sauce and vegetable combinations to create
unique dishes. The skinless and boneless salmon
fillet has a cut pocket that is filled with three large,
succulent farmed warm water King Prawns and a delicious basil
pesto and spinach filling. Preparation is simple with
each portion supplied in an individually wrapped pouch, which
is ready in only 12 minutes in a hot (180°C) oven.
Both products offer customers classic ingredients served
with a new twist and chefs will appreciate the benefits of
convenience, speed of preparation and service as well the
flexibility of menu uses. As with all Lyons Seafoods products,
the new range is backed by the company’s sustainable,
ecological and ethical guarantees.
Paul Vita, Commercial Director at Lyons Seafoods, explains: “These
products are designed to offer restaurants and pubs with
a convenient added value proposition that will be perceived
by their customers as a premium menu offering. Both
recipes are an easy way for chefs to get more seafood on
to the menu and encourage consumers to try something different.”
Lyons, who are part of Alfesca, will be in Hall 6 on stand
number 1163.
Lyons Seafoods is Europe’s No. 1 processor of King
Prawns and the world leader in Organic King Prawns, and is
celebrating its 50th Jubilee anniversary in 2008. Strongly
backed by the international Alfesca Group, the company has
major retail and wholesale customers worldwide.
